World Contributions to the Sport Broke the men's lock on inverted jumping
National Contributions to the Sport Elaine helps her family host several tournaments each year. You will find her doing everything from skiing and scoring to setting up equipment and hauling out the garbage.
Local Contributions to the Sport Volunteer instructor at Wisconsin Waterski Expo
Promotion of the Sport Elaine volunteers time each year to do a Barefoot Waterski Show in conjunction with a fundraiser for a local charity called "Beach Party at the Blue Moo". The event has attracted thousands of spectators and lots of local media attention.
Elaine operates a Barefoot Waterski school called The Blue Moo Barefoot Academy . Many of her students are beginners. As a skier who was herself a beginner not so long ago, she believes the success of her business, as well as the future of the sport, lies in attracting new blood. That's why the focus of her promotion is on beginners.
Assistant Scorer
Other important information Elaine is currently in her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin, majoring in business. Her current goal is to own and operate a sports based business prominently featuring Barefoot Waterskiing. Her current enterprise, The Blue Moo Barefoot Academy, will be the foundation of this business. Elaine believes her business and our sport will need to focus on attracting large numbers of new participants if we are to prosper in the future. Since 50% of all prospective new skiers are female, she thinks these prospects need more attention. Elaine hopes her success can help inspire other girls to give our sport a try. Hopefully her news-making inverted jumping will help send the message that bare-footing success is as attainable for girls as it is for guys.
