Ron Scarpa's Watersports  Skier Appreciation Award

In the spirit of giving back to the sport of barefoot waterskiing, the AmericanBarefoot Club is proud to announce the new "Ron Scarpa Watersports Skier Appreciation Award."

Ron Scarpa's Watersports has donated a full week of barefoot instruction to beawarded to a Mens 1/Womens 1 barefooter or younger during the 2010 season.  Each region will select candidates who meet the award criteria and submit them to the ABC.

This award is not based solely on skier ability or scores, but also on their contributionto the growth of barefoot waterskiing on and off the water. From the list of regional candidates, RSWS will choose one person to receive the Ron Scarpa's Watersports Skier Appreciation Award at the 2010 US Barefoot Nationals Banquet.

RonScarpa's Watersports has invested in the growth and development of barefoot waterskiing for more than 30 years.  It is their hope that this award will become a way to recognize skiers in the years to come. Help out, encourage, participate - who knows, maybe you will be enjoying a week of free training at Ron Scarpa's Watersports this season!

CRITERIA:

Skiermust be Mens/Womens 1 or younger

 Climbing the USA and World Rankings List

 Committed to remaining in the sport and working toward National Team selection

 Dedicated to promoting barefooting in his/her area

 Demonstrates a willingness to help at tournaments and events

 Advancement likely with professional training

 Not currently attending ski school

 Upholds a high standard of sportsmanship on and off the water

Award Includes:

 One week of barefoot instruction at Ron Scarpa's Watersports (5 consecutive days oftraining).

 Scheduling based on space availability at RSWS.

 Award includes skiing and instruction only.

 Accommodations, transportation, or any other charges are the responsibility of the award winner.
