Jim attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in the school of Criminal Justice. He married the love of his life, Nichole R. Grimes on Dec. 29, 1990. They both were blessed with 3 children: James "Jamie" age 18, Jacklyn age 15, and Michael age 11. From 1992 to 1995, Jim was a correctional officer for the Rock County Sheriff's Department. Most of his career was spent as a School Resource Officer for the School District of Beloit working in various buildings. The best part of his school day was spent enjoying the kids and he was proud to be "purple." Jim was a member of St. William Catholic Church; the Rock Aqua Jays for 10 years where he watched his children soar to unimaginable heights in water skiing. He coached them to compete for the U.S. Barefoot Water Ski Team in 2009, in Oatki, New Zealand. He was a boat driver and beamed as his children never failed to take him by the hand and share their greatest achievements.
