Adin Daneker

ABC Male Athlete of the Year

The ABC is honored to announce the Male Athlete of the Year:

Adin Daneker.

Daneker is considered barefoot water skiing’s quiet professional. The long-time National competitor from Olympia, Washington is not one to brag or even speak loudly on the starting dock, but rather, let his barefooting do the talking.

Daneker was an integral part of the U.S. Senior Barefoot Team and its success in the 2010 World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany. The U.S.Senior Team captured the silver medal, missing the gold by just 67points. Daneker captured many of the team’s points with solid performances in all three events.

Daneker finished fifth in tricks, earned the bronze medal in men’s jumping with a 77 foot jump and the silver medal in the Senior Mens overall competition. His incredible success in 2010 was hard-earned after coming back from a knee injury. He made a commitment early in 2010 to travel across the country to train in Florida on a regular basis. The hard work paid off and in one of his first tournaments of the year he scored a personal best of 7300 points.

One of the hallmarks of Daneker’s success is his competitiveness on the dock and in life. In addition to being a world class barefooter, he is an extreme snowskier.

Adin is the ultimate team player and one of the hardest working barefooters I know. Some people we have to throw out of the boat to train, but with Adin, we have to make him stop training and get back in the boat,” says Coach Swampy Bouchard.
