By The Salber Family
Mike Salber died as he lived, Full Throttle.
Mike was many things to many people; Father, Brother, Firefighter, Competitor, Friend or as Mike would say FAMILY. He died June 2, 2018 racing boats with his son Zane.
Mike’s journey started in Lincoln, Nebraska born to Marvin and Patricia Salber. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas where he graduated from Goddard High School in 1980. Due to his love of water skiing, he found his way to Florida in 1991 and met a fellow water skier, Jacy Skeldon. They shared 22 years of marriage and raised 4 beautiful children together. Mike was extraordinarily proud to be a father and enjoyed showing his children the adventures that life has to offer!
All of Mike’s experiences, each place, each sport, each career, he leaves behind a legacy rooted in tradition. World Champion Barefooter, Firefighter Charity Bowl player, water skier, Public Safety League football player and head coach, Fire Lieutenant-Paramedic, Bike Rescue Team Instructor, Seminole County Rescue Swimmer, Sanford Special Ops Team, Police and Fire World Games Motocross competitor, sea plane pilot and professional race boat driver. The accomplishments are all amazing and he always found a new forever friend on each adventure!
His reach spread around the world and now expands to Heaven.
Mike didn’t just dream it, he did it!
