Hey think you might have set a new national record?! Congrats on some amazing skiing! Here’s what you need to do now to submit for a record:
- Notify your tournament director in writing asap since they’ll have 28 days after the tournament to submit everything required (it probably also helps to give them a verbal heads up this will be coming when you’re at the tournament still).
- You’re done! But here’s the next steps anyway:
- The tournament director will gather judge’s sheets and video and then have the judge(s) review the video to confirm they still agree with their live assessment.
- If the judge(s) review still looks like you broke a record, the tournament director will submit the appropriate paperwork and video to the records review committee.
- The records review committee will then distribute the video and tournament score sheets to three of the most highly experienced judges in the country for additional assessment. The final score will be what a minimum of two of the three judges agree upon.
- This whole process usually takes about two months and you’ll be notified whether the record is approved or denied at that point.
