Tournament Director and Southern Regional Director Mike Caruso has wanted to have a barefoot tournament in South Florida for several years and was excited Mills Pond was open to having barefooters back in the hood. SIGN UP HERE

“It’s a great way  to honor Ed and bring barefoot competitions back to Fort Lauderdale,” says Caruso. “Plus, the site is long, calm and you definitely won’t have to wear a heater shirt!”

    1. Count me in! I will be there in Honor of my life-long friend and barefoot mentor!
Edward taught me how to foot circa 1972 on the bayous of Louisiana. We joined the USA Water Ski Assoc. and read articles on “how to barefoot…” We basically skied for years just lifting a foot on the whip because we had enough speed! We eventually progressed to toe-holds once we acquired a Ski Tique/Nautique 17′ w/ 302 cu.in. Ford which went 40mph. Many miles of water passed under our feet just Footin’ . In Edwards company, I learned lots more about life, mechanical and electrical engineering, flying and good clean recreational Fun! I will Cherish time spent w/ Ed and want to Celebrate his Life and Legacy through our favorite pastime, barefoot skiing!
Am lookin’ forward to sharing memories w/the Southern Regional footers.
      Wm.
