The 2019 Midwest Regionals took place last weekend at the Blue Moo in Alma Center. About 32 skiers with one being the Current World Overall Women’s Champion, Ashleigh Stebbeings skied on great water with blue skies and 85 degrees. Definitely not a typical day in Wisconsin!
Three skiers achieved their goal of skiing a qualifying score for the 2020 Worlds at the Midwest Regionals. Ryleigh Stenson qualified in Open Women for tricks and slalom, scoring 2230 points in tricks and 8.9 in slalom. Ken Kaestner qualified in Senior Men for tricks, scoring 2670 points. Tom Tocco scored 14.2 in slalom qualifying him in slalom for Senior Men.

Ashleigh Stebbeings’ appearance in the Midwest gave everyone a great show with a slalom score of 18.0, then 7,250 points in tricks, and a 19.2 meter jump.
Six skiers: Dawson Wallen, Cole Stellmacher, Carter Boerman, James Bruns, Amara Bruns and Roger Brummel competed in their first ever Regionals. They all will likely be skiing their first Nationals this year also at the Blue Moo.

Thank you to Chief Judge Joe Knapp, Chief Scorer Mike Molepske and Chief Boat Driver Scott (Scooter) Stouffer for running an efficient and fun tournament.
A big thank you to the Heller family for letting us Barefooters play in their backyard. Especially Janelle for all the clean up she does prior to anyone being on-site and helping feed officials.
