Loss of Joe Valenti
“Joseph Michael Valenti March 15, 1962 – Jan 28, 2014, Resident of San Jose.
Joe passed away peacefully after a brave and valiant battle with leukemia. He touched the lives of everyone
who knew him, and he will be terribly missed by all.”

Joe was a “World Class” barefooter who was actively involved with skiing in the Western United State.
His skiing accomplishment included qualifying for numerous World Championships.
Over his barefooting careerJoe had posted slalom scores of 19 or greater. His greatest barefooting
accomplishmentwas at the 1999 Sr. World Championship with a gold medal in Houston Texas defeating such icons
in the sport as John Steckelenburg from Australia and William Farrell from the United States.
His light hearted attitude at the starting dock will be missed.
“Joe is survived by his loving wife, Nicole; devoted children, Alina and Michael; parents, Michael
and Helen; brother, Charles, and sister, Diana. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Ben.
Friends and familyare invited to the funeral service on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini church;
15333 Woodard Rd. Burial to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a
donation in Joe’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.”
