The 2018 Silverado Tournament in Adna, Washington hosted skiers from New Zealand, Australia, Canada and all over the United States over the weekend.Attendees included some of the world’s top guns such as: Keenan Derry (Third in Elite Men’s at the 2016 World Championships), Georgia Groen (First in Elite Women’s at the 2016 World Championships), William Farrell (Ba
refoot Waterski Legend), and Teri Jones (First in Senior Women’s at the 2016 World Championships).
We had a number of PB’s this tournament starting with Easton Olsen of Utah throwing up two solid scores of 1500 in tricks and beating his personal best in slalom which was 5.9 and is now 6.6. Grandpa Mike Brisco getting a great PB in slalom of 6.25. Georgia Groen coming all the way from New Zealand getting a new personal best and woman’s New Zealand record in jump of 21.3 meters. Stefan Lippelgoos coming out from Florida getting a new PB in tricks of 4120 points and 14.2 in slalom.
Some big highlights of the tournament include Joe Lovato doing the very first flying line step start in tournament EVER! William Farrell of California, Waterski Hall of Fame Inductee, skiing in his first tournament in three years and tricking 5380 points and slaloming 16.4.
Teri Jones, traveling all the way from her home in Florida, skiing her first tournament since the 2016 World Championships, and jumping for the first time since the World Championships and still throwing up some incredible scores of 10 in slalom, 2500 in tricks and 9.2 meters in jump.
Doug Jordan, local legend and barefoot king, slaloming 15 and jumping 15 meters… with a traditional style jump! BEAST MODE!!! James Leen being a tenth of a meter off qualifying for the 2018 World Championships in jump, scoring 21.9 meters, needing 22 meters.
Great job everyone this weekend and a big thank you to Doug and Dianne Jordan, the rest of the Jordan Family and the Partners of Lake Silverado for hosting this awesome tournament at an amazing lake!
