The Mexican Ski and Barefoot Federation (FEMEW) and the Pan American Confederation are pleased to invite all the federations and their federated members to the 2019 PanAm Barefoot Championship, which will take place from November 1 and 2, 2019 at the Bocalaguna Club, Chapala, Jalisco, which will be carried out under the supervision and rules of IWWF.

The championship will take place at the Bocalaguna Ski Club, an artificial lake with world-class design. Bocalaguna has hosted IWWF Championship Sub 21 in 2009, Pan American Games 2011, World Championship +35 in 2012, Latin American Championship 2014, World Ski Championships 2015, Pan American Ski Championships 2016 , Pan American Wakeboard Championships 2018 and countless National Mexican Tournaments.

Bocalaguna Located in Chapala, Jalisco. It is located approximately 25 km south of the International Airport of the City of Guadalajara, Jalisco IATA code (GDL). This airport has connections from Mexico City, USA, Canada, Panama City and many other international destinations.

  • Exit the GDL Airport, turn right towards Chapala.
  • When you get to Chapala you will find the first traffic light. Turn in U and take the first street on the right on Av. Pepe Guizar. Continue until the street ends.
  • Turn left on the Chapala Mezcala road (Gonzales Gallo) for 4 km.
  • The lake is on the right.

Chapala and Ajijic are twin towns located on Chapala’s shore that are home to one of the largest ex-pat communities in Mexico, this has created a number of boutique hotels, great restaurants and bars, all in a safe atmosphere for international visitors.

The dates of the championship will coincide with the celebration of the Day of the Dead in which the communities adorn the cemeteries with flowers and food for their deceased, the following link can show you….

VISAS

All participants in the 2019 Latin American tournament that come from countries that require VISA to visit Mexico

They will be able to have an invitation letter issued by the Mexican Federation of Aquatic Skiing or their own federation where they establish that they are part of the representative team of their country.

It is important to mention that the VISA must be obtained in the embassy or consulate of Mexico BEFORE the departure from the country of residence, so we suggest you carry out the process with due anticipation.

INTENT TO PARTICIPATE

The federations that intend to participate must send a letter of “Intent to Participate” (they are at the end of the Bulletin), to Omar Torres at the email before September 20th 2019.

INSCRIPTION

Registration for each tournament will cost USD 350 per participant; these payments include the participation in the tournament, the lunch of the skier and the officials during the days of competition and the banquet dinner of the award day of the tournament.

The Final Nominal List of the athletes who will participate in the “2019 PanAm Barefoot Championship” must be sent along with the proof of the registration fee of the same, to Omar Torres at the email , no later than the 7th of October of this year. For the late submission of the registration, a penalty fee USD 20 per day and per athlete will be applied, in accordance with the IWWF Rule 2.05.

TRAINING

It will be possible to train at the official site with official boat on October 29 and 30, 2019 at a cost of USD 300 per hour and must be paid in cash before the start of such training directly at the Bocalaguna Club. The date and time for training must be requested by email to Álvaro Lamadrid Hernández ( and confirmed by the same means. On Thursday, October 31, 2019, the FEMEW will determine, in an equitable manner and according to the number of participants, the duration of the training per country. The assignment will be made according to the regulations of the Pan-American Confederation. In this way the distribution of time requested by each country will proceed. Each country may reserve a maximum of two hours. This training must be canceled to the Federation directly under the same conditions.
